Wish I’d seen this when you posted it. Did you go to the Sound Lounge fundraiser? If so how was it?
Would’ve been a perfect opportunity to plug another local event (to me) - Folk in the Park - a one day music festival which happened a week later, in Manor Park, Sutton. It was organised by the Sound Lounge too, in case you were wondering what the connection was. I was working at a farmers market that day, but went along to the festival after that.
The year before (2024) it was cancelled, so I think it may have become biannual, as I haven’t heard anything about it running this year.

I haven’t been to the Sound Lounge recently either. A visit is overdue though, especially as one of my mates works as the Sound Engineer there (his name is also Ben)!
As you say, its a great venue. Plus its a bit more spacious now the record shop has outgrown their space there (‘Looking for the Magic Records’ has moved to a stand-alone store not far afield in Carshalton). Always enjoy going to the Sound Lounge…
Has your aunt moved closer to you?

No my aunt has moved further away, near her son.
Sound Engineer Ben is a lovely guy, so I’m sure he’d be happy to chat (as long as it didn’t interfere with his work).
Whilst its handy that your Aunt is now close to her son, it’s a shame she’s further from other relatives like yourself. Was just chatting today to a mate who’s moved to the south coast. Whilst it’s good for him and his partner, we don’t see much of him any more and it fragments families (his immediate family all live round here - Sutton/Carshalton).
Sorry to hear your friend moved to the coast but it’s an excellent excuse for a trip to the seaside
